![]() ![]() There's barely any unit formation, each age unlocks new buildings, but there's no indication that in order to build this new building, you have to build this building from the previous age. The only for me to have known this was through trial and error, or checking the wiki. Why is the tower upgrade in the granary? Why is the weapons/armor upgrades in the storage pit? And for the upgrades, the location for some of them are non sensical. I know I'll get used to it overtime, and I can respect the devs for remaining faithful to the source material. But it's still off putting to me that they could have made the gameplay much more in line with it's sequels, instead AOE DE feels like something that is very seperated from the rest of the series. Some of what I find are the most essential gameplay improvements are not really present here, such as the good pathfinding, formation and selection of military units only when there are villagers within the select box. I'm not a good or a knowledgable RTS player, so I might be wrong in this critique and there are some layers within this gameplay that I'm not aware of. Feel free to correct me if you see any errors. ![]()
